Stenwood Virtual 5K & 1-Mile Fun Run
Friday April 16 through Sunday, April 25th
The Stenwood 5k & 1-Mile Fun Run went "Virtual" in 2021. Stingers had the same great opportunity to exercise, show your school spirit, and sport those awesome 5K T-shirts and snazzy new medals.
Thank you to Stenwood parent, Melissa Ni, for putting together a recommended Stenwood Elementary School Virtual 5K training plan.
What is a Virtual race? A virtual race is a race that can be run (or walked) whenever you want and from any location you choose. You can run, jog, or walk on the road, on the trail, on the treadmill, or on a track. You get to run your own race, at your own pace, and time it yourself. You can also run at whatever time of day you prefer!
Start your Training: Check out the Stenwood Elementary School Virtual 5K training plan. You can adjust the dates if you start your training later.
Plan a route: Rule #1 is to make sure you pick a safe route; be mindful of traffic and terrain and make sure you are following COVID-safe guidelines. The simplest kind of route to plan is an out and back.
Track your distance, pace, and time: If you do not have a FitBit, Garmin, or Apple Watch, you can still track your stats using the stopwatch on your phone or a free Run Keeper app. We'd love to see and hear how you all do.
Registrations submitted by April 7th will include an official 5k T-shirt and medal.
Post Pictures and Times: After you run, please share your pictures and times HERE.
Thank you to our 2021 sponsors!
